The Old Man of the Mountain Legacy Fund The Old Man of the Mountain Legacy Fund was originally formed to create a lasting legacy to New Hampshire's most famous symbol, the Old Man of the Mountain. Updated with a new mission in 2009, the group, in cooperation with Franconia Notch State park, will work to refresh and renew the "Franconia Notch Experience" as well as create new and unique adventures at the Park.

Preserve the Legacy

Today, there are many ways in which the legacy of the Old Man of the Mountain is being preserved.

Donate to the Memorial Park - Profile Plaza.  The Memorial Plaza in Franconia Notch State Park is along Profile Lake.  This Memorial Plaza is paid for through private donations as no State funding has been given to this effort.  Make your donation or buy a paver and help preserve the legacy of the Old Man of the Mountain for future generations.

Host and Educational Seminar.   Members of the Board of Directors of the Old Man Legacy Fund are available for public speaking and would love a chance to give a seminar on the history and legacy of the Old Man of the Mountain to your civic group, community, or even your work place.

Nominate a person or community to receive a Profile Award.   The Profile Awards were created after the fall of the Old Man of the Mountain in 2003 to recognize an individual, an organization, and a municipality embodying the strength of character of the Old Man. Recipients are chosen based on their contributions to the state in preserving New Hampshire’s heritage, culture, resources, traditions, and history.
